This will send a confirmation message to your e-mail account. Confirm your request to reset your password by clicking on the link inside the confirmation message. I sometimes struggle to access the Striata Learning Portal. What am I doing wrong?
The Striata Learning Portal has only one correct address: http://learning.striata.com
You may be able to access the Portal without typing HTTP:// first, however, you never add www to the address. You may consider adding the site address to your favorites. Back to questions.
How do I use the forums?
Forums are a convenient way to communicate with Striata Learning and fellow learners. Click on the name of a forum to view the content and or to create your own entry (some Forums do not allow learners to make their own posts). Back to questions.

How did Striata create the Portal?
Striata used Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment. It is a software package for producing Internet-based courses. Moodle has more than 20.3 million global users participating in nearly 1.9 million courses at 43,837 registered sites (according to Moodle's published statistics).
Because Striata Learning uses Internet-based courses, you can login from anywhere - home, an Internet cafe, basically anywhere in the world, with an Internet connection. This is how Striata implements AAL (Anytime, Anywhere Learning) - by removing all borders and barriers, AAL becomes the most important benefit of the Striata Learning Portal, empowering you, the learner to learn at your own pace. Back to questions.
I experience Technical difficulties, who do I contact?
The Striata Learning Portal is a web based application. Many technical difficulties may be browser related. If you experience problems with your browser not displaying the Striata Learning Portal correctly, use your normal support channels. If you suspect the problem is unique to the Learning Portal, please report the issue by sending a detailed message to learninghelpdesk@striata.com. Back to questions.
The "Show me how" demonstrations don't work. What's happening?
You need Flash installed on your computer to view the demonstrations. Back to questions.
Does my login ever expire?
When you have been enrolled on a course by Striata Learning, you need to log in at least once in 90 days. If the system detects no logins for 90 days or more, you will be automatically unenrolled from your course(s). In that case, simply contact the Learning Helpdesk for re-enrollment. Your user name will remain on file for as long as you require it. Your Striata Learning Portal session will timeout automatically if there is no activity for 90 minutes. Back to questions.
My screen does not match what I see during the procedure animations.
We are continuously improving the Striata Application Platform. For this reason, you may find that animation images used by the Learning Portal, may not always exactly match your screen when you log in. However, the animation will still be valid in terms of overall procedure, despite a minor change such as the position of a button being moved for instance. Remember, the animations are revisions and are by nature, not detailed. The animations cannot take the place of the lessons. Always make sure you read the lesson text as well. Back to questions.
I sometimes get lost inside the lessons, I don't now how to get back or move to the next lesson.
Lessons will have a "Continue" button that will advance you to the next lesson. Some lessons will advance on you answering a question. However, since it is most likely that you will not read multiple lessons in one session, we recommend you click the course code that is displayed at the top left of the window. This will always return you to the course landing page from where you can access any other lesson or block. Back to questions.
Parts of the course have gone missing. I only see one section. What happened?
Each section has a white square / marker in the top right corner. When this square is clicked, only that section remains visible, with the other sections hidden. This reduces the scrolling required to move through the course. Click the white square again to reset the display and make the entire course visible. Back to questions.
Why do the email, SMS and FAX eMarketing courses seem duplicated to some extent?
Many users of the Striata Application platform will send only one type of campaign, an SMS campaign for instance. However, to ensure a broader understanding of the Striata Application Platform, certain sections are repeated for each of the three eMarketing courses. We do this because some learners will have no need to ever visit the eMarketing email course for instance and again, for that reason, certain sections are repeated. If all the learners using the Striata Learning Portal had a requirement to always know how to send email, SMS and FAX campaigns, the courses would have been consolidated into one course. Making three individual courses available to our learners ensure that the learners get exposure to only that material relevant to their job requirement. Back to questions.
How long will it take me to complete a course?
It depends on what you want to accomplish. If you simply want to read through the material, we recommend a minimum of 15 minutes reading per lesson. If you want to spend the time and become more skilled at the procedures, you will spend about 30 minutes to an hour per lesson, which includes watching the lesson animation and any optional practical work that you may attempt. Some lessons are however, shorter than others. If you have not yet had the opportunity to use the Striata Learning Portal, you will spend another 15 to 30 minutes reading the user guide. In summary, if you want to learn you need to spend time with lessons. Simply glancing through the material will only familiarize you with the content to some extent. You need to read attentively and re-read if required, until you feel comfortable with the lesson material. Back to questions.
When I look at the list of available courses (Course categories for Striata clients), I see red crosses in stead of images.
Log in before you view the list of available courses. This normally resolves the issue, displaying the images correctly. Images may also not display if you click on a link before the image had time to load. To refresh, hold down the shift button on your keyboard, and click the Refresh icon on the IE toolbar. If you still have problems, it may be a Microsoft Internet Explorer issue. Back to questions.
Is the Learning Portal the only way in which I can learn how to use the Striata Application Platform?
No. Despite the fact that the Learning Portal was designed to be learner-led and designed to transfer mission-critical knowledge quickly and cost effectively, you can still augment your e-learning with instructor led face-to-face training. Alternatively, you can arrange for instructor led face-to-face training sessions, and use the Learning Portal for revision / refresher purposes. Please note that training sessions can be separately charged for. Contact your Striata Account Manager for more information or to arrange the session. Back to questions.
